We all deserve joy in our lives, but finding it isn’t always easy. Here’s a 10 minute video on the importance of finding JOY and why we need to give it more of our attention.
We can get joy from some of the small things in life, such as a good movie, playing a game, exercising, cooking, painting; but these are often brief, fleeting moments that can get washed away when we return to the normal humdrum of life. The joy I’m talking about here is much bigger, longer lasting…….
While I still struggle with anxiety and depression a lot of the time, I’ve realised that it took a breakdown to put me on the path to JOY. For the first time ever, I love the work I’m doing. I still have loads of fears, doubts, I loose my temper, and I’ve come close to giving up a few times; but every time I finish a talk or presentation, Kim says she sees a glint in my eyes, like I’m really alive, and that’s the sign I’ll take to knowing I’m on the right track.
As far as opportunities are concerned; I’ve had to be brave, let go of the safety rope and dive into the deep end; luckily I have some very special people in my life who are helping me along the way, they keep me going when things look bleakest, and help me work around my disability. They also bring me joy.
Here’s a couple of questions to ask yourself, to see how close you are to achieving joy
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
