When the panic attacks started late in 2015, I thought something had snapped in my brain; I was terrified. Early in 2016 I had a full mental breakdown, and there were three big questions that I needed answering; WHAT is wrong with me? WHY is it happening? and HOW am I going to cope?
My GP was great, but I had to find out most of the answers for myself.
‘Living a Life Without Limits‘ gives you the answers, so you don’t have to trawl through loads of self-help books like I had to.
A key area I focus on is ‘Neuroscience‘! Learning the science of the brain may sound complex, and hard work, but trust me, it was key in helping me understand my situation better, and I know it will help you too.
I share information on the key parts of the brain that are linked to anxiety; show you why anxiety doesn’t always make logical sense, and that along with depression they are natural responses not weaknesses. You will also learn how habits are formed through a process called ‘chunking’, and how addiction can occur. You’ll see how powerful our thoughts are and why it is important to try and think positively, even if it’s just for 5 minutes a day! Most importantly you will learn about Neurotransmitters, chemical messengers in the brain that control our mood levels and our physical responses.
Armed with this knowledge (and much more) you will be able to manage your mental wellbeing better; you will be able to spot the effects of stress earlier, and have tools in place to help restore a healthy balance in your mind and body.
You will also learn the WHY, WHAT & HOW of different therapies and treatments, so you can understand them better, and be able to figure out what works for you, and what doesn’t.

I’m not a scientist, a doctor, a psychologist or a counsellor, but I have lived my own battle with mental illness, which means I can relate and empathise with what you may be going through. I include examples of my own lived experience in my talks and presentations, as well as other real-life examples, so this stuff is not just theory, it’s practical as well. I am a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England), so I can offer a level of support, and help you with finding additional support, if needed.
My talks and programmes are for everyone; you don’t have to be struggling with your mental health to find value in them. We all struggle with stress, so it is good to have tools in place so you are prepared to fend it off. It’s all about helping you to become more resilient, and to move through problems and stresses with greater ease, rather than getting stuck.
I am flexible to present any of the above topics, either as stand-alone talks, programmes, or coaching sessions; or as a combination of any number of topics.
There is also the option of the full ‘Living a Life Without Limits’ programme; over 12 hours of lifechanging information and exercises.
The talks and programmes can be presented on-line or in person (1-2-1 coaching is generally done on-line).
